Walking in fields of gold

Tuesday, 5 May 2015

We had a lovely bank holiday weekend that we spent very lazily really. My favourite day was definitely the Monday. We didn't have any plans which is always the best kind of day really. The day started in a lovely fashion as I was treated to a lie in and a cup of tea in bed. Unfortunately Little Mr had his eye on all of the pancakes but I will let him off this time.

I had one mission today and that was to find a beautiful golden rapeseed field to take some pictures, Mr H had one mission and his was to have pizza for lunch! I had planned to do this when we visited Mablethorpe but unfortunately Little Miss was too poorly with chicken pox.

I won first and we had a lovely drive around finding our perfect location. We are lucky that there are lots of colourful fields within a short distance of our home. Once we found the perfect place we began. Little Miss and Little Mr had a fab time running around and laughed non stop.

They are not the best and by no means but I love them. Little Mr does too and when we viewed them on the computer he was already picking out the ones that he wanted on his wall.

I love this picture of Little Mr, he looks so relaxed and happy. He was watching and waiting for his Daddy to chase him here.

This is Little Mr's favourite picture. He loves being thrown high by his Daddy. I had a go too (at throwing the children, not being thrown) but I am not as brave at letting go.

Above is Little Mr's favourite
"Aww I love this one of Little Miss she is so cute, its much better than the ones of nothing."

I love the ones of Little Miss and Mr running towards each other and holding hands. I love seeing their precious little bond and how much they love and care for each other.

After our family adventure it was pizza time. Yipeee!
Here are some more pictures from the fields of gold.

The last couple are some of my favourite ones.

A caravan by the sea

Monday, 4 May 2015

We recently spent a long weekend away in a caravan. We booked our cheap and cheerful break with Haven and chose to stay at their Mablethorpe site. Our drive to the park took us over the Humber bridge which was nice as the area holds lots of memories for me.

We had anticipated we would need to make a stop during our journey but luckily both Little Mr and Little Miss slept most of the way - bonus! We were given an upgrade when we arrived and were pleasantly surprised with our caravan. We unpacked and then headed out for something to eat.

Unfortunately Little Miss had come down with chicken pox just before our break but only had a couple of spots until our second day when she was covered from head to toe. This meant we had to plan what we could do a little more carefully. On the Saturday we woke super early thanks to Little Mr, had a breakfast and were all out of the door by 9am. We walked to the beach and spent a lovely morning building sandcastles, flying a kite and combing the beach for shells. We found lots of star fish which Little Mr was extremely wary of for some reason. Little Miss slept most of the time and once out it took her ages to want to touch the sand with her feet. We the went back to the caravan for egg sandwiches at Little Mr's request. In the afternoon the hubby took Little Mr swimming whilst I stayed with Little Miss. The joys of chicken pox hey, I am just glad it was quiet so we could go for walks and to the beach.

We had a terrible night with Little Miss on the Saturday, she couldn't settle and was feeling so sorry for herself. As we had had very little sleep we had a much lazier morning and woke for 7am (yep, that's a lie in in our house, or caravan in this case). We had breakfast and then headed out for a drive to take in the scenery and also find a pharmacy that was open on a Sunday! I had planned to take some pictures on my 'proper' camera of the children and us as a family making the most of the scenery however my efforts were mainly focused on Little Miss.

We ended up finding ourselves in Skeggness. Once there we parked up and walked along the seafront. We stumbled across a deserted crazy golf that Little Mr was desperate to have a go of, who didn't love crazy golf as a kid??

By lunchtime Little Miss was flagging so we grabbed a quick bite from MacDonalds and headed back to the caravan. Back at the park Mr H took Little Mr to the amusements and the park whilst I stayed with Little Miss and tempted her with bi-carb baths in a washing up bowl.

On our last morning we packed up ready to head home but not before a quick play in the sand pit park. We had a lovely time even though Little Miss was not 100%.

Bucket List #May

Thursday, 30 April 2015

Twinderelmo

I only recently stumbled upon the bucket list linky an immediately loved the idea. So without further a do here is my bucket list for May.

 1) To get back onto the fitness wagon. I recently really got really into HIIT (high intensity interval training) but fell off the wagon throughout April for many reasons such as Birthdays, weekends away and work.

 2) Spend more time on Riding bikes with little Mr. He loves it but we really don't do it enough.

 3) To save at least £100 this month. This is a biggy a the last few months I have spent every penny I have earnt so I really need to be more frugal with my money.

 4) To finish my book. A couple of months ago I began reading The doll house, I was really beginning to get into the plot and I just haven't picked it up again. I miss reading adult books.

 5) To go on a girls night out. Since children I have really scaled back on nights out, I fact they scarsely happen. So on my list is a girls night out though this one is cheating really as I do have a night out planned but it will be my first in a long time.

So short and sweet but hopefully it will be achievable. I will feel more accountable anyway!!
